This is a very good and useful thread :)

A year ago (I think) I found a "Legends" magazine in an arts, crafts and books shop in our city centre in Leicester (UK). At the time there were only two copies, and I managed to purchase the one that was in a better condition, also at a reduced price because of the state it was slightly in.

The magazine is a 1992 issue, also...
*34 pages
*Language:  English
*Publisher:  Printlist Ltd
*ISBN:  9-770966-802017 - 02
*Price:  £2.95/US$4.95
(However, I got mine for under £1.00)

The contents of the magazine includes:
"Introduction"
“We Are Family”
“The Magic Of Motown”
“Licensed To Thrill”
“From Star To Superstar”
“1992: Michael Hits Europe”
“Legends By Post”
“Discography”
(And there is also a free poster inside which is an image from the “Bad” Era)

I will definitely try to include some photos (next time) of this magazine when I can... ;)

Hm. Well this is quite unfortunate, I cannot seem to attach my photos.
If only the size requirements were a little less limited for the attachments :(

I guess I need to try a different setting...  :excl:

Will get there in the end... hopefully    :)

Maybe you can downsize it a bit before attaching? Or upload it to a picture hosting service. Looking forward to see it.

So getting back to the "Legends" magazine I spoke of before, I managed to attach some photos of the 1992 issue.
Right, now unfortunately I had to downsize the images quite a bit, so the quality may seem quite poor. I do apologise for this :(

This is the front cover of the magazine:

And this is the back cover of the magazine:

You are most welcome :)
Yes, the image on the back cover is lovely, isn't it... as are the images inside the magazine too...
I wanted to share those, but unfortunately the size of the images seemed too large (even though they were set on the smallest size) for the remaining space on the upload quota  :(

What I have once experienced is that it is not allowed to put more than 10 images into a single post, no matter what size it is. Maybe you had more pics in that post?

Thanks a lot everyone for keeping this thread alive and for sharing your books/magazines with all of us. I'm always curious about books or magazines I've never heard of. ;)

I've purchased quite a few magazines over the last months myself and will soon (I hope!) find the time to make a little review on them. (I definitely need some more holidays, aren't we all? heh).

Although what I wanted to say is if you have a blog somewhere, you can upload your pics over there and just link them here (like I did for the J5 books post), otherwise, you still have some very nice host sites like ImageShack (which will allow you to post thumbnails of your pics) or Tinypic (if you use Tweeter you may be familiar with that one) or Photobucket a well known and most used website over the year by millions of people, and finally and probably my personal favorite Flickr.
These are just a few ones I've used over the years but there's plenty of others, so no reason for you to be stuck again when wanting to share your pics here. Have fun! :)

In the beginning of 2012 my sister bought me a book "Michael Jackson- I Love You, Poland". As the title says, it's about Michael's visit in my country in 1997. Book is full of beautiful photos taken by Czesław Czapliński, who is also the author of another book that this one is based on. I don't know if it's available in other countries, but it's a great book for every polish fan to see, especially for younger fans who didn't have a chance to see him in 1997.
I give links to some photos of the book, the quality isn't best (my camera s*cks and i had to resize my files 'cause my internet connection s*cks as well).

Information:
TITLE: MICHAEL JACKSON 1958-2009 "I LOVE YOU, POLAND"
AUTHOR:CZESŁAW CZAPLIŃSKI
PUBLISHER: NEW MEDIA CONCEPT
ISBN 978-83-7675-128-3
INDEX 255343

Sorry for not really keeping this thread alive but a big thank you of all of you who did. :)So, I've acquired some new (old) books on Michael lately and here they are and my thoughts on them. But first here's the list of the books in question:
- The Jackson Five by Ellen Motoviloff (January 1972)
- Michael! by Mark Bego (March 1984)
- The Michael Jackson Story by Nelson George (paperback 1984)
- Marvelous Michael Jackson An Unauthorized Biography by Barbara McCall (1984)
- Michael Jackson Body and Soul by Geoff Brown (1984)
- Michael Jackson by Stewart Regan (1984)

- The Jackson Five by Ellen Motoviloff (January 1972) - Scholastic book services T2014

This tiny little book is probably the jewel of my collection and the very first book published on the group after they emerged. It's very small, has been written in June/July 71 and has some of the most beautiful photos of the boys at home, some taken by the author herself when she visited, as well as several other taken from the 1970 concert given at the LA Forum. A real MUST-HAVE for every Jackson 5 fan.And to think that I found it on Amazon for 2.50$ in used books or less than 10$ with other sellers. Seriously so cheap it would be a shame to miss it!

Posted Image

- Michael! by Mark Bego (March 1984) - Pinnacle Books (usa) (New York) 1984 - ISBN: 0-523-43223-2Pinnacle Books (USA) (New York) / 1984 / ISBN: 0-523-43223-2

I have already talked about this one haven't I? Always a favorite of mine mostly because of the very nice photos you can find in it. Every fan should at least have a copy of this one.

Posted Image

- The Michael Jackson Story by Nelson George (paperback 1984) - Dell; First Thus edition - ISBN: 0440155924

I haven't read that book yet so I can't really say if it's yet another retelling of the story or if it offers some new info or is interesting in any way. There are pictures in the middle section (as usual) but they are not really rare or never seen before. It seems like you can find it for free as an ebook version on this site. (first link, the second one is broken)

Posted Image

- Marvelous Michael Jackson An Unauthorized Biography by Barbara McCall (1984) - Weekly Reader Books - Middletown, Connecticut.

Mostly a children book for kids from preschool to high school, this book is starting with a trivia quizz on Michael with questions as "When is Michael's birthday?". Some nice pictures in black and white (not many from the early days but more from the 80s) plus some from the Victory Tour in color. It seems like it has been written and put together very quickly after the success of the Victory Tour. I'm not sure it's 100% accurate history-wise but I bet it was nice to have for a kid at that time.

Posted Image

- Michael Jackson Body and Soul by Geoff Brown (1984) - Beaufort books ISBN-10: 0825302137

I had heard so much about that book that I was a little bit desappointed when I received it because, yes, it is an illustrated biography of Michael but most of the photos were in black and white (thankfully there are two mid section with some color ones) and they were so "popular" that I felt a bit cheated. Then I started reading it and before I knew it, I was half way through the book. Geoff Brown is a fascinating story teller and the way he tells you Michael's story seems like you discover it for the first time even if you had known it for years before. It's also refreshing to have a "European" point of view and how the boys and Michael were perceived in UK during the J5 years. So all and all, it's an interesting book. It has 128 pages with lots of pictures and even though they are not very rare or never seen before, it makes for a very nice illustrated biography all the same. Probably not a "Must have" in my opinion but you still can find some very very cheap ones on used books on amazon.

Posted Image

- Michael Jackson by Stewart Regan (1984) - Greenwich House - ISBN 0-517-451484 - hardback

And finally last but not least, this beautiful picture book by Stewart Regan. This book is a feast for the eyes, lots of truly beautiful photos, not "never seen" ones but definitely rare ones. Lots of pics taken from the Triumph Tour. Shame mine isn't signed! :D

Posted ImagePosted Image Posted Image Posted Image

And that's all for the books I recently found.Honestly, take a look at amazon used books section it really is worth it to build your collection with very interesting books at the lowest price. You'd be amazed.
