Here is the audio and transcript of Paul McCartney speaking about rejecting a 1981 offer to buy the ATV catalog for £20 million at a press conference.

There was once a video clip of this on youtube that had at least few hundred thousand views. I am looking for that video. Thanks.

You can also let me know if you have any feedback on the webpage above. The audio files are also available to download from here:

Is this your blog?

I found that transcript very interesting. I don't think I have that video, but I will look out for it in the future.

Thanks. It's not really a blog, more like a website created to clear up some misinformation about the acquisition of the catalog that I've seen on the web. How was the audio player? It's been tested on Firefox and IE7 but I would appreciate any feedback just to be sure.

I've received confirmation from a journalist about the audio clip,
http://mjjinfo.blogs...n-of-audio.html

On Dec 6, 2010, Jack Doyle (jdoyle-at-pophistorydig.com) author of the article in the references: "Michael & McCartney, 1990s-2009". The Pop History Dig. (section: "Jackson Invests") 7 July 2009.
confirmed that the audio clip "sounds identical to that press conference I cited." Below is the description of the press conference that was the last reference in his article.

"You Tube video Re: Michael Jackson How He Came to Own The Beatles
Songs," Paul McCartney press conference in 1990 in which he discusses
how Michael Jackson came to own the lion's share of The Beatles Lennon
& McCartney song catalog. During a Paul McCartney tour, April 14, 1990
at Joe Robbie Stadium in Miramar, Florida."
