My name is Nadine, I'm french, in my forties and I've always loved michael's and his brothers music. I discovered him at a very young age (around 10 or 11) for a first encounter and then several years later when michael started to make it big with his Thriller album. I started collecting from that time, eager to discover every day something new about my favorite artist, then years passed, life got in the way, I remained an admirer but in a less crazy way than in my teenage years. Somehow through life, only a few items survived from my collection, which is now a pale reflection of what it once was. I'm also a bit less interested into "owning" Jacksons things. I guess I'm not a true collector in the soul.
I still enjoy watching and sharing some rare photos or just some photos, or things I would know on these fantastic performers.
Of course Michael's passing has devastated me, as many many people, because he was symbolising my youth somehow, and fantastical good days or period of my life. I never met him or had any contact with him or his family, I guess I never really saw the necessity of that. I think the closest I ever got to him was when I went to see him in Paris in 1992 (dangerous tour). I'm also very glad I did it at least once in my life and I'm sad about all the young ones who'll never have the chance now. It was truly a magical moment.
My favorite era has always been the J5 era, I'm not sure why. no, I really can't tell you why. Nothing's gives me more thrill than see a J5 photo I have never seen or hear a J5 song I never heard before, or a new, different version of one I already know. So I guess I'm more a j5 fan after all.
I think internet is a wonderful thing and I suppose that I would have never had access to some info or photos or even songs without it. I love technology and I find amazing the progresses it did in only a couple or more decades.
I'm also very happy to see all websites dedicated to michael or the J5 flowering a little bit everywhere, I find it amazing that people share the love and share freely their long kept treasures just for the joy of others. I think that michael would have loved that and it makes me feel proud, somehow, when I can also share something too, with people who will understand and not only pillage or steal things from good caring fans.
So I just wanted to say that I very much appreciate for this site to be there, and i'm very grateful to have found it. (via Raisa and J5Collector)
And this post wasn't supposed to be that long... heh.
